Act III - The Role Of The Healer

Being a shaman healer, Hunny was particularly interested in extending The Healer’s role. He wanted to bring indigenous native tribe traditional healing, also known as shamanic drum healing, that had been forgotten back into the urbanscape as part of a performative act. Drum healing was commonly used by shamans as a form of sound healing and journeying for the tribe.

In this performance act, we created a sacred space for healing using nature’s elements and resources. For instance, the soil helps facilitate healing and reconnection back to Mother Earth; the wind makes one feel free and open, such that one can receive the maximum amount of healing required; the touch of the sun’s rays on a person’s skin gives one the awareness of being alive. Reconnecting with these elements and resources are especially important in our modern time, where we’ve lost touch with natural forces in the urbanscape.
